GARRARD

Older, large units (RC-88, 98 series, "A" series, Lab 80). Rebuild, $155. Most need idler wheels, and your wheel (if bad) would be replaced on an "idler exchange" program. We stock rebuilt wheels, and replace yours with one of them. We send your old wheel out to be rebuilt, and it is then sold to another customer. I do my best to resurface and chemically clean your old wheel to save it, if at all possible. Older, small chassis units, such as RC-121, rebuild $160.. probably will need an idler, too.
Newer, small chassis units (such as 40MKII, 40B, SL-55B, SL-65B, Autoslim, AT-60, and similar that use a balance arm to hold a stack of records): $135, rebuild, usually will not need parts.
Large chassis units (SL-75, SL-95, 990B, SLX-3 and similar that use a clip at the right rear to hold the stack of records): $160. Rebuild. Usually doesn't require parts.
Zero-tracking-error units (Zero-100, Zero 2000B, Zero-92, GT-55 and similar): $175. Usually doesn't require parts.
All others not fitting these categories, labor rate @ $45/hr. plus parts.

ELAC/BENJAMIN/MIRACORD

600 series: Refurbish $125. Usually doesn't require parts.
10, 40, 45, 50, 700 series: refurbish. $145. Usually doesn't require parts.
Any other units, $45/hr.
Generally, there are no parts available for any of these units. An occasional spindle, but little else.

B-I-C

Model 920, $125. All 940, 960, 980, 981 series: Total rebuild. $150. Model 1000, $165 usually doesn't require parts and does NOT include any electronics on the 980, 981 or 1000.
All other series, non electronic: $155, usually doesn't require parts.
All electronic units, add $45/hr. if it has an electronic problem (rare!)

R.C.A. 45 RPM changers

We are now rebuilding these due to popular demand. Although there are other companies that specialize in these machines, we've seen enough bad "rebuilds" where the units don't work properly afterward. We rebuild these units, replacing both the eccentric (cam) wheel and the idler (drive) wheel with QUALITY re-manufactured ones (on a core-exchange program) We install new motor grommets (mounts), new AC cord, new RCA audio cable and cartridge/stylus. In order to do a proper rebuild, all of these items need to be replaced. The rebuild price, including those parts, is $210. If you have the older changer with golden-colored metal platter and metal tonearm, the price is $30 less, as these do NOT use an eccentric wheel, but we WILL repaint the gold color if and where necessary, using the proper color and lustre spray paint. We do NOT do any electronics. We do, however, have a connection for rebuilding of the electronics, and will remove them, pack them, ship them, have them rebuilt, and re-install them. You must e-mail us for a price, as there are variables such as what needs to be replaced and whether it's just an amp or an amp with radio. We do stock the wheels, grommets and modern replacement cartridges for these. We service the changers within a week of receipt, however, if the electronics need to be done, that will add about a month to the service. We do prefer to receive only the changers, if electronic work needs to be done and you are handy, it's more cost-effective for you to remove the electronics and have them taken care of.

TECHNICS

Digital readout (SL-1500 MKII, SL-1400 MKII and SL-1300 MKII): Almost EVERY one of these units will have a non-functioning cue/auto-lift. Check out our "Technics" page to learn about this problem. This is NOT a Do-It-Yourself repair for ANYONE who values their MK-II!!!!! 25 years of experience repairing these models (and this particular problem), has given us a unique perspective on how to effect a repair that holds up for the life of the unit, is stronger than the original part was, and makes the machine work as it did when new. To rebuild the broken cue mechanism (the part that breaks is NOT available!), re-pack the cue cylinder with new, PROPER, damping fluid, replace the audio cables, modify the trip solenoid(s), and clean, lube and adjust, $150. Disassembling the button board and cleaning out the crud that makes some or all of the buttons inoperative, adds another $25. For those units where the suspension has "sunk", $20 gets that rebuilt.
D.J. units SL-1200 MKII both pre-and post-1985, SL-1200 M3D, MK5, 1210M5G: Clean, lube and adjust, and all labor for any mechanical problems, $45 total, parts additional. Electronic problems, $45/hour. Most EVERY part for these units (except for the M5G) are in current inventory, so turnaround time is very short for you DJ's that make your living from your 1200's. Always in stock: pitch controls, arm rests, tonearms, pop-up lamps, audio cables, counterweights, headshells (look-alikes, but NOT made by Panasonic). Just about any other part can be procured within 2 working days. 25 years as a DJ and 22 years experience on these particular machines means accurate diagnosis and quick repairs.
All other Technics: $45/hr. plus parts.

MOST OTHER AMERICAN MAKES

MOST EUROPEAN MAKES

MOST JAPANESE MAKES
